Meet the Visionary Behind Bombas Wines

At Bombas Wines, we believe that every sip should tell a story. Meet Sanet Bombas, the heart and soul of Bombas Wines. We sat down with her to talk about her journey, passion for winemaking, and dreams for the future.

Our wine in three words..

Luxurious, classic, flavourful, exotic.

Our inspiration

It’s well known that champagne is my favourite drink and they say old habits die hard. For the past 19 years, I have been a mimosa girl with a deep love for champagne. I eventually fell involve with the idea of owning my own MCC wine which then prevailed me to own a Merlot and a Cabernet Sauvignon, additionally. I felt, Namibia needed an aromatic and rich wine in a bottle and with a corkscrew. The BOMBAS range of wines was born. The aromatic flavours are inspired by the beautiful dunes in my hometown, Swakopmund, Namibia whereas, for the rich taste of the Sauvignon blanc, the inspiration draws from the farm where I always visited my grandparents.

Bombas is my surname which belonged to my grandparents and holds so many special and uplifting memories. We are a very small family from Khorixas and it is for this reason where I decided to expand and keep the legacy of our name starting by sharing a bottle of wine around the flaming fires whilst singing, telling stories and bonding as a family.

Where we produced our wines

BOMBAS Cap Classic 2020 is produced at Ridgeback Wines BOMBAS Merlot 2021 is produced at Ridgeback Wines BOMBAS Sauvignon Blanc 2022 is from Lourensford Wines. Both Wine Farms are in Stellenbosch, CapeTown, South Africa. The BOMBAS range of wines was born. The aromatic flavours are inspired by the beautiful dunes in my hometown, Swakopmund, Namibia whereas, for the rich taste of the Sauvignon blanc, the inspiration draws from the farm where I always visited my grandparents.

Exquisite taste

I chose quality grapes at the winery where the grapes undergo a double fermentation process in the bottle to ensure the natural occurrence of the flavours. Everything from choosing grapes to wine production happens at the renowned Ridgeback Wines and Lourensford Wine Estate, best known for crafting wines with passion and finesse.

How we stand out

I have been visiting all levels of hospitality establishments and have always enjoyed distinctive client service where serving excellence inspired me, greatly. my passion is to add my wines on the wine racks globally, and be blissful to watch how the culinary series serve the BOMBAS Wines. Although produced in South Africa, my ambition is to be able to stand alongside some of the world’s finest luxury brands. The BOMBAS range of wines was born. Our learning curve

In any business you dedicate yourself to, there is always a lot to learn. What makes a difference, though, is that if you have enough passion for something, you love what you do, and the learning becomes second nature. Everything around me is driven by serving excellence and innovation.

What's next..

I want to eventually launch the next array of flavourful wines and eventually have my product placed on every cruise ship menu. Watch the space.
